I'm new to this site, but not to music. i just want to say, thanks for your intrest in my song(s). i have many more to come. the $ u spend here will enable me to make more music for you! So, with my thanks, and gratitude, i hope you enjoy, and tell your friends!!!
I don't really know if this song is a song i wrote for my Dad, or in a peculiar way, a song he wrote about me.
I miss my Dad all the time, and wish i could see him hear how far i've come. I know he sees me, i think he wrote this through me/for me.
I love you Dad.
lyrics
Thought i heard a voice i knew sing a familar tune
somewhere in my own mind
so i listen to those words but when i closed my eyes
seems like i froze up inside
thought i saw a shadow move when i called out a name
think i'l stay here if its all the same
Listen boy, you don't know
just how far i'll go
to help you learn to let go
when it's your time
put your hand in mine
I'll carry you to the sky
Thought i heard a kind word spoken in a voice i once knew rub my eyes to see if it was true
thought i felt a warm hand touching dust strings my heart
that sweet song tore me all apart
thought i saw myself so clear but it was all a dream
seems that all it was was always me
Listen boy, you don't know
just how far i'll go
to help you learn to let go
when it's your time
put your hand in mine
i'll carry you to the sky
